It was great to attend the one day workshop at Sardar Patel University, Mandi today to deliver a talk on Research Proposal Writing for their PhD scholars and faculty members.Fascinated by their enthusiasm and the desire to learn and implement. Just some motivation and proper direction will go a long way. It was a pleasure to visit the Department of Chemistry at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, deliver an invited talk and to interact with the faculty members and research scholars. It was so nice to visit NIT Trichy after a long gap of 5 years for a PhD viva voce. In addition to conducting the viva voce, it was a pleasure to meet and interact with old friends and the newly joined faculty members of the Chemistry Department.This visit was also an opportunity to explore some ancient and traditional temples of Trichy, including the rock temple and the historical Srirangam temple, which is very vast and could not be covered on a single day.Thanks to my friends, Prof. Sreekanth Iyer and Prof. Ramasamy Karvembu for the kind invitation and wonderful hospitality. Delighted to participate in the 4th National Workshop on Technology Innovation in Cyber-Physical Systems (TIPS 4.0) at IIT Bombay from May 13 to 14, 2024 and represent our IIT Mandi iHub and HCi Foundation as its Project Director.This workshop provided a lot of learning and understanding in terms of translational research (technology and product development), entrepreneurial ventures (startups and commercialization), skill development (capacity building and training) and collaborations (with industry and international institutions). This workshop provided a platform to meet and interact with several accomplished academicians, industrialists and investors. Also, it was good to catch up with old friends and make new connections. To put the entire learning in one sentence - "Focus on outcome and impact rather than numbers". After a long gap, we had our research group get-together and lunch today. We recently welcomed a postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Bhagyashree Priyadarshini Mishra and a PhD scholar, Suman Das in our group, in addition to two MSc students, Jasbir and Deepak.We will soon be bidding goodbye to a project associate, Ashru and five MSc students, Devanshu, Shadab, Prerna, Vinit and Ashutosh.All this and the close of the current semester calls for a gathering and a relaxed lunch with fun and sharing of experiences. Our perspective article on the nuances associated with regard to photocatalytic nitrogen fixation to ammonia and the possible remedial measures is now published in Advanced Sustainable Systems (https://lnkd.in/gFd_P9RT). We anticipate that our perspective article will benefit the researchers working in the area of green ammonia production. In addition, it can also alert them about false positives and how to overcome the issues.
